MLB DFS Lineup (7/31/2020)
As I am writing this piece, MLB just announced that the Brewers-Cardinals game today has been postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the Cardinals clubhouse. If this happens a few more times in the next week or so, I am not sure how the MLB can stay on track. I believe the NBA had it right with the bubble and it's too bad MLB could not settle on using spring training sites for the 2020 MLB season.
Well, if all of the other games are taking place, then my sample lineups should be fine. See below.
Don't mess around with pitching. Go with Luis Castillo and we should thank our lucky stars that the Reds game yesterday was postponed due to bad weather. That means Castillo gets to face the same team he dominated last week. The fact that he is worth just $8K on DK is a crime. Who cares if his ownership is high. I don't see anyone else who can dominate like he will today. Think about Shane Bieber yesterday. He easily had the highest score and at fairly high ownership. If you did not have him in your lineup, you most likely lost money (like yours truly). Castillo is the highest priced pitcher on FD but it's not outrageous (like Jacob DeGrom when he is $12K). You can get some good offensive stacks with Castillo on the mound.
As for our stacks, I will keep attacking the Orioles pitching staff and hope we get the right bats this time. The bats I have chosen from the Rays are cheap and have done well so far this season. You could try the other bats as well and see if they do something. This is gambling after all and we are making educated guesses. With warm weather again in Baltimore, Camden Yards will once again be a launching pad so get those Tampa Bay bats in your lineup.
My other stack will be the Astros and I won't spare any expense here. They travel to Anaheim and it's not quite clear who is pitching but it won't be anyone to fear. The Astros are still one of the top offenses in this league. You could do the Yankees or Dodgers but I just have a feeling that the Astros are due to pop off. They seem to hit better away from home. Here is another reason to go with Houston: Michael Brantley is only $2.8k on DK. Yes, you read that right. I don't what on Earth the people who are setting the prices on DK are smoking but I am not complaining. The pricing of Castillo and Brantley on DK are the deals of the century right now.
Good luck and let's hope the MLB season does not get canceled.
